plz help!! alternater not charging

can anyone help me i keep loosing the charge on my 93 wrx. it keeps coming and going, ive changed the alternator and also the battery.
i can drive it for a day and then it will stop and i cant drive it for weeks, also when it is charging if i put my foot down (hard or soft ) my volt meter goes down and then back again when you ease of again.. can any one help b4 i take it to my subaru dealer may thanks any help is welcome

Could the altenator be connected up in reverse? dont know if this is possible as never examined it on a scoob, so therefore may not be charging the battery up.
Personally though I would go somewhere that carry out battery checks, they can check if it is the battery of the alternator and then you would have an idea of where to look.
Also check for things like lights staying on (in the boot for instance - again though cant remember if they have one)

Yeah check the earths - most car electrical problems are to do with earthing. Make sure the engine is earthed... Just started working with scoobys myself so not sure where the engine earth is tho

have been looking at the earths as i have had them off when i did the respray, sounds like that to me but not having much luck
does anyone no if they have a relay?
