TEK to Apexi-PFC, Who's made the leap.
My Apexi is on order, so will be swapping out the TEK3 for the Apexi in a week or so.
Who's done a similar switch ?
If so any regrets ?

i swapped from a tek 3 ecu to a tek 3 ecu with an avcr and it made a huge difference in acceleration so i went all out and put the apexi power fc in it made a huge difference and on andy's laptop i was running 1.6bar on my TD05 where as it was only making 1.3bar with the tek ecu. but my defis showed a nice 1.7bar

I swapped from a tek3 to a PFC on a MY00 car.
The only think i don't like about the Apexi is it's inability to pull timing when detonation is detected - It relies on the user to keep an eye on knock levels, which can rise considerably if you experience bad fuel, or failing AFM etc.
I've been considering getting a J&S Safeguard to 'listen' for det and retard the ignition when necessary. - http://www.jandssafeguard.com

ETC --> sw sensor check you can see which sensor is out of voltage.
It doesn't include the MAF sensor but then you know when that has failed as it is obvious and this is very often not shown on the OE ecu diagnostics anyway.

I can't adjust the TEK (without splashing out £300 each time), but I can an Apexi ...

You can usually taper the boost mechanically, if you are on a sensible actuator and the wastegate flows enough it should blow open the wastegate spot on with a typical TD04 or TD05.
I've spent many hours tweaking the map of T-uk's 340 BHP TD05 setup on Ecutek, with det cans, wideband, various boost controls, lots of hard use including track and drag. We tried the PFC on it, and the results seemed very similar to Ecutek. Using it did not remove any of the hiccoughs in the fuelling due to MAF/FMIC/DV selection or the gearchange det, which were the reasons for trying it. He kept the Ecutek setup because we had confidence in its robustness after all the testing we'd done, and the PFC would have needed tweakage over time to only equal the Ecutek setup.
For live adjustability, bigger injectors, changes in MAF, logical mapping, the PFC is easier.

The UK's fastest 1/4m standard internals Subaru runs Ecutek
The fastest non std internals runs Apexi.
I'm sure the roles of the ECU's could be reversed with similar results subject to appropriate mapping.
