My boot lock does open with the keys nor the lever has anyone else found this when they have changed the spoiler on the boot?

Thanks

I've got a p1 spoiler on my classic.. and atleast once a week the boot doesn't open. I've had the rear seats out.. tried to get some slack in the cable, but after putting it all back together.. no change.. so i just try to park the car on a flat road and avoid bumps in the road when im coming to the end of my journey.. or just keep a 10/12ml in the glovebox!

dont understand why it would affect it. Recently changed my original low rise spoiler for an sti v5/6 highlevel and I didnt need to go anywhere near the locking/release mechanism with mine.
The only issue is because the spoiler is a lot heavier than standard, and I have a lightweight boot it opens but doesnt lift by a few inches, however if I then lift it, it is fine

Thanks, it must just be the extra weight of the spoiler.
