Exclamation Full Decat MY00 + MOT time

Guys

Whats the best thing to do, just to get it passed?

1. Fit the original Center pipe back on and hope?
2. Try and find a friendly tester (becoming harder and harder to find)
3. Spend the money and get the downpipe swapped back to original then replaced after the test. (this will be a nightmare)
4. ???????????????

Thanks in advance
Darms

I put the cente section and back box back on, plugged in the standard ECU (run LINK usually) and a working MAF sensor - job done.

1) should do it, but you'll need to get it hot first and ask the MOT tester to do the emissions test first. If he lets it cool down, it might not get through. There is another oprion: buy a sports cat DP. There is one on Scoobyworld at the moment at the giveaway price of £299 then come MOT, the car will pass with no interference.

Mine passed with just the centre section, kept it on afterwards could not realy feel any difference on the road running with just the centre cat, makes life alot easier!!
Always make sure car has good run to ensure everything hot before test.

I'm not sure where abouts you are but the people I use in Middlesex have a catted centre section that they swap on for you for the test for £20. PM me if you are nearby & want details.

Agreed and done this myself in the past, however I read somewhere that due to the revisions in the new MOT certificate, this is harder than it used to be - do not know why though. The guy I used simply put the prong up a Nissan Micras **** and took a reading from there.

even though all the mot stations are computerised now, they are a bit slow in getting the TV links up and runing. Thats why you managed to get away with the probe up the micra. they will struggle when its all monitored / recorded.

if you are in the midlands i can give you the name of a place that will pass a decat scoob for £20. PM me if you like.

You want to make sure it passes first time as its £44 with no free retest
