Thumbs down coolant lose?????

hi all

i have a my99 classic, i noticed the the level in the expansion bottle has been going down of late, only a little from the full mark to the low mark in about a month or so, while looking around i noticed a pool of coolant just to the left of the eninge code area behind the power steering res, it seems to be coming from just behind that area, is this a common thing or am i looking at a fxxked engine, the coolant is clean and there is none in th oil. oh there also seems to be a small amount on the drivers side exhast sheild?

any help welcome

thanks

sean

i have a my00 classic and have just had the same problem, the top radiator hose split and at first only lost a little bit of water then started spraying it out, it was strange because some times it would leak and other times it wouldent so it took a bit of finding, i would take it off and have a good inspection

common places for them to go are the drivers side rad end cap at the front and the top hose as sideways has said.

they can also leak from the temp sensor, that is in the area you have a pool of coolant so i would check it first.
