Ok, so my new engine has now done around 3K and is nicely loosened up
I have a very clean 94 WRX Wagon which at present has a Ninja backbox
J&R panel filter, the engine itself has a modified oil pump, weight matched
con rods and a lightened flywheel which all adds up to a very nice performing
car, but, and it's a big but...
I'm now wanting to decat the downpipe and then have it remapped, as it's
a 94 it needs either a ScoobyECU or my other choice, the Apexi PowerFC.
Now i know Scoobyclinic do the ScoobyECU and map for a decent price, this
plus a decat downpipe supplied by them would come to around £750.
As for the Apexi PowerFC, I'm looking at that just for the unit and mapping,
I've then got the cost of the downpipe on top.
So, do i take my car to the Clinic and get them to fit the downpipe and also
map the car or, do I get Zen Performance to map the Apexi unit for me after
getting a decat fitted.
I would like to try and max out the TD04 (280BHP) but obviously keep reliability.
Any advice would be great.

The scoobyecu is good VFM if you are not modifying any further. If you intend to change things in the future then the Power FC has to be your best option.

Cheers Andy, you have answered my question perfectly.
I am considering further mods, like one of your hybrid TDO4's maybe

so don't worry you'll get some business!!
I live in the Midlands so Zen is the perfect choice as it's just down the road,
but that said if when i get round to having it done there is someone else interested then i could split the cost of you traveling with them.
It's all about money mate, you must appreciate that.
