Hi. i'm after some help. I have a chip on my paintwork that's about 1.5mm in diameter. It was there when I bought the car and it is rusted. Can anyone suggest the best way to get rid of the rust so I can touch it up? Thanks in advance

Electrically buff it out, then clean out with thinners. Apply paint blob leaving it proud. Polish flat when dry, using a soft cotton cloth stretched over a smooth and flat block of pine (or similar). Vigourous rubbing will take it down nice and flat & almost invisible if you are lucky.

Cheers for the replies. I don't have an electric buffer unfortunately. I was reading elsewhere on the net to get wet and dry paper, and glue a circle of it to the bottom of a pencil. In fact, to the eraser at the end of a pencil. Then use that, but I can't see that I'll be successful since the pencil diameter is so much bigger than the chip!

Fold the emery over and use a corner. Dont matter if you make it bigger, you can fill with paint and have a couple of goes at it
