engine question

my mate has a wrx import, now he has an engine noise which sounds like piston slap. He has been offered a uk turbo engine, will this fit if he puts the wrx ancillaries on the uk block and heads?

it will depend on what year the import is and also what year the engine is from

1997 import and R reg uk engine available.

Be careful buying engines.
I blew up a MY96. Bought what I was told was a UK MY96. Got Westaways Subaru to fit it, had to spend loads more on auxillery parts that didn't match up.
