Thumbs up Starting Mods for a 04 WRX

Hi All,

I'm new to the site and to Subaru's. I have just bought an 04 plate WRX in WR mica blue to replace my Evo. It is standard at the moment but i would like some advice on what are the best value mods for this car performance wise? Don't want to go too far, just intake/exhaust etc... and whatever else can easliy bag me a few extra ponies.

I need to change the exhaust to get that awesome burble first of all - can anyone advise which exhaust is going to give me that note without being too costly?

Also I want the prodrive rear spoiler, where can I get this and at what price?

Thanks in advance

Good quality panel filter to start with, such as STi, Green or K&N.

For exausts the choice is yours.
From cat back to full systems loads to choose from, couple of good examples here:

http://www.tsl-motorsport.co.uk/news...section=300008

Then consider a remap such as a Ecutek 3.

If the car is still under warranty you could haggle a deal on the PPP, should be able to get it for much less then £1600, this is a new ECU, Prodrive back box and removes the 2nd cat. Also you get a silicone 'Y' intercooler pipe.

First mod should be better brakes and suspension though such as uprated ARB's and drop links from Whiteline and springs like Prodrive or Eibach.
For decent pads you won't go wrong with Pagid black or Ferodo Ds2500's with Goodridge lines.

Afterburner vortex exhaust by hayward and scott gives the best sound and performance check out scoobyworld site and you can download sound files to listen yourself. Even better if you can stretch to the centre section awsome sound.

Decent decat system, panel filter (green), remap will TOTALLY transform your wrx. Only ~270-280 bhp & ~260-270 fl/lb but IMHO with some decent brake pads/hoses, rear adj. ARB and solid droplinks the car becomes a very handy fast road car. What it should have been from the factory..!

You won't regret it..!

By the way, Richie, I'm really impressed with my Pagid pads and GR hoses. They just keep getting better and better..!
