Default New turbo, new injectors and fuel pump

I`ve had a rebuild on my bugeye WRX about 1200 miles ago and the run in has been softly softly. The car has been previously Ecutec`d and is running at 1.2 bar.
Whilst it was in for the engine work I`ve added a VF28 to replace the TD04, and fitted an STi8 TMIC.
I`ve bought a Walbro fuel pump and STi pink injectors but they`re not fitted yet.
Now..............the question............... can I run my vf28 up to 1.2 bar as it is before remapping, or should I add the injectors and pump and run it on full boost before mapping, or leave it as is and wait till remapping to fit the injectors and run full boost?

Im assuming that if I run 1.2 on the new turbo it`ll be detting cos of too much air, but will the injectors and pump level this out?

yours confused

Got exactly the same mods as me,

I would drive off boost until you get it mapped, My car ran like a bag of nails until it was mapped.

I got 310bhp with those exact mods at Powerstation.

310 would be great, but i`d settle for 300.1

Was yours running rough cos you fitted the injectors and pump before mapping, or just rough?

Cliff
Had everything fitted near enough the same time, I had the injectors and fuel pump fitted at API's and on the way back on the motorway you could tell that something had been changes as it didnt feel right.

Went straight to my mates garage, and fitted the turbo, and it ran even worse, The next day had it mapped and oh my god what a differance.

Definately dont run it on boost till its remapped or you might find yourself back at square one.Sounds very promising though, look forward to seeing it at the pod

you can fit everything and run the car ok bar the injectors just dont drive hard due to new turbo !! as it wont run right until the car is mapped to those injectors

i hope you have a fuel pressure regulator to your mods list as well

cause i dont think you will get your car running with new injectors as you will probably have to adjust it just to tick over

what if the injectors are fitted at the same time as mapping by Paul at Zen? Or is it really neccessary? I just seem to be pouring money into this scoob and its value is ever decreasing

i would ask paul but i would think you would need a fuel pressure regulator to adjust the 565cc injectors to fuel right

Cliff i don't think you would have to fit them injectors to get to your target, i've got the standard injectors and you know what sort of power & torque i've got and they were running at 90% so still not maxing out and i'm not running a fuel pressure regulator as Bob said it wasn't needed.

thats what i thought too but to my horror found they were only 380s (blue in colour)

hence why most swap for the 505/565cc sti jobs...

you may not "need" them, but it gives you a little more breathing room..

Didnt run my car with a fuel pressere reg, as I was told I didnt need it, and my car has been running good for about 5 months now.(Quickly touches wood )

And my 2004 WRX came with the dreaded 380's, They had to go for the STi injectors, As Nelio said you might not need them, but it gives you a little more breathing room.
