sti ver.9 dccd
Hello mates,
I just got my first sti ver9 dccd (2005), and it amazing, after 4 years with my old “wrx”. Now, I need some ideas about tuning,
What I am trying to achieve is getting to about 350 hp.
My main question is: if it possible with boost controller to getting there? (Of course that I am having a free flow tail pipe (scooby 2.5")
Please help me I am loosing my mind
Thank you all,
Eli

Hi man, Ive got the same car as you do, and i have to point out some things you might not be aware of since you come from the older generation of Subarus:
1) Do NOT remove the catalysts, especially the one before the turbo without a remap. This will cause such an intense boost-surge (around 1.8 im told) that you'll end up with pistons on the road.
2) The ECU is massively improved in comparison to older cars. Unless you're looking at 450+ Hp the stock ECU can handle everything fine no prob.
3) aside from getting decent tyres (the bridgestones are rubbish, as you probably noticed) and getting the geometry set-up (its always off from factory, on almost every car on the planet) don't do anything to the ride. At least not until you feel it's unsatisfactory
My suggestion is to nip down to a specialist (personally i went to TSL and wouldn't heistate a second in advising them) and get them to do you a Stage One upgrade. This is like the Prodrive PPP but with a little more grunt and no warranty. What you should check this includes is:
Any length of exhaust pipeline, new backbox, removal/replacement of catalysts, NEW FUEL PUMP (original one wont flow enough to support past 300-320 detonation will result), new air filter (note, not new air-bos. Before 400+ hp the stock one is lovely and perfectly adequate) and REMAP on the fuel you'll be running. There should be an easy 330hp. Stick in a better intercooler (big fan of TSL's intercooler/chargecooler myself) and a less-unequal length header (or indeed equal-length) and 360-365hp is your limit, sheerly due to the fact that the turbo is maxed out. Anything you do past that point will be limited by the turbo's envelope.
Good luck and nice choice
