ecu questions
I drive a MY93 Subaru Legacy single turbo. I have a TD05 turbo already fitted (which year wrx did that come from?) and now I'm getting a front mount intercooler. I had to stick with the Legacy ecu before because of the pump for the charge cooler but with that gone would I see any difference by "upgrading" the ecu?
My car currently has:
TD05 turbo
VOS chip which is an Australian chip specific to the Legacy. This is mapped for 95 fuel and 16.5 psi.
3" open neck de-cat downpipe to 2.5" (scoobysport)
2.5" de-cat center section (scoobysport)
hayward and scott backbox
k&n induction kit for a sti5
With this lot my car produced 265bhp on g-forces rollers on Saturday. I am wondering what is holding the car back, is it the uk ecu (remapped)? or the charge cooler. I am looking for new heads at some point too and will get sti ones.
What size injectors did the 260ps wrx use?
Thanks

TD05's were fitted to all WRX's pre 97, execpt for the 5 door which had a TD04
You may see some benefit from shielding your induction from the engine bay heat
IMO, Sti heads probably aren't worth the extra expense over V3 or 4 WRX ones, as your Legacy bottom end will probably object to anything over 7200 rpm
AFAIK, all 260ps phase 1 models had grey 380cc injectors - the same as fitted to your car.
Not a bad dyno run for an ol' Leggy with a few breathing mods

z4 is a nice match for the tdo5 but i am not sure how it will react with the cams in the leggy.
why not just fit a power fc, that will make the most of the turbo and mods you have already.
i know they are probably a little expensive but well worth every penny IMHO

Do Legacy cams have a different profile?

lol.. sorry I read the original thread yesterday and then read the replies this morning and thought the 6k I have which is STi2 RA ecu would suit.. as it is a TD05 mapped ecu.. but sounds like your Vos chipped leg ecu is already mapped for the TD05?
