Default One for the techie's Fuel distiribution

I have seen a number of adverts for uprated fuel distribution systems one by APS and one by TSL spring to mind. They both claim to give better fuel distribution thus getting rid of the known fuel distribution problems associated with the flat four. My question is this, if you were to bridge the fuel feed to the fuel return pipe. Thus giving fuel feed from the pump to both sides of the fuel distribution pipework. Having T-pieced a fuel pressure regulator into the feed pipe would this negate the problem with poor fuel distribution to cylinder 2?
Yes I have been on the sauce, but the principle is good, just may need a bit of TLC. Any thoughts? Could save a few £££££££££

i thought the poor fuel feed was actually to number 3 cylinder near the turbo,as this injector is at the end of the rail and suffers from slightly less fuel pressure being the last one fed...... also as number 3 cylinder is the hottest, again to its proximity to the turbo, this is where the problem arises as there is less fuel to cool that cylinder, seen loads of threads and pics regarding the fuel rail mod which eliminates the loss in pressure by pairing front and fear cylinders together and running feed and return from these paired T pieces...... now ive been talking with a guy on the P1 forum, and there may be a much simpler way of avoiding the low fuel pressure problem at number 3 cylinder,he simply swopped over the feed and return pipes from the fuel filter so that number 3 now actually gets fed the first, seems a simple solution, although not as complete as the pararel fuel line job

As I said had been on the sauce and was still drinking. What you say about swapping the feed and return pipes round seems a good idea aslong as the pipe diameters are the same, because if the return was a smaller bore then maybe you would compound the problem further?

not actually trie it myself yet to see,but in conversation with the guy ( heavily modded P1) i asked if he had carried out the conversion to paralel feed, and he said he had not,and ha simply swapped over the feed and returns....no mention of any problems doing this,so i assume the pipe diametere are the same..... anyone done this to confirm?

You can only reverse the fuel flow so number three is fed first if you are using an aftermarket fuel reg, as the standard reg is fitted to the end of the fuel rail at number three, and regs only flow one way.

Jim

BTW I run mine in reverse flow.

Only thought of this having fitted the FSE regulator. Running in reverse does seem to be the way. Will have a look tomorrow it's too bl$%^y cold at the moment.
