what do you mean by A frame

I hope you dont mean "Spectacle lift" as I think they also call them A frames...

are 4 wheels going to be in contact with the ground and allowed to rotate?

No an A-Frame ties around the wishbones so all 4 wheels still in contact with the road. They look like this http://tinyurl.com/kodw7
They work a treat but are no good on cars with Alloy wishbones.

You can tow them as long as all 4 wheels are on or off of the ground Two of either and and you're asking for trouble

My mates 01 bugeye wrx has alloy front wishbones. Have you put the wheels on a lock and had a look? They should be silver.

UK newage wagon WRXs are steel, saloon WRxs and STis are alloy.

Now the question has been answered, what is the difference between the two. Apart from one being steel and one alloy

Newage wagon has same front track as classic saloon, so all the old front suspension spares in the Subaru left-overs bin could be reused on it.
The newage alloy w/bone is wider for STi/WRX saloon wider track.

I hope your aware of the legalities: Better be a tow for emergency "recovery" purposes rather than regular towing as transport etc. As your well over the 750kg unbraked tow limit (somthing to keep mind if plod starts sniffing).

For fitment on a classic, there is no difference in weight between steel and alloy wishbones......I was very disappointed to learn when I swapped my steel ones out No idea on the newage stuff though!
