Default Head Gaskets

Hey everyone,

This Yank needs some of your guys/gals help. I currently have a UK wrx motor in my USDM 2000 Impreza RS (gc). One of my head gaskets has gone and i'm haveing trouble finding out if I can use 2002 USDM WRX headgaskets to replace my failing ones. When I bought this motor I was told it was a 1995-6 motor. This is the stamped code i pulled of the block just below the IAC valve 382927. If they are not the same can you guys/gals point me in the right direction to get the proper headgaskets to be shipped to the US.

Thanks everyone,
Jonathan

You could try emailing David at www.apiengines.com He has the resources to help you get sorted I think, but he is a UK/Jap car specialist in the UK.

Have you tried Ron at Axis in the USA?

Doesn't the USDM use 2.5 litre heads? You need gaskets for a 2.0 JDM WRX (or UK turbo 2000)

If you have a '95-96 engine/heads, you need to use the 1.4mm head gaskets, ideally the multi layer steel from the STi3/4.

APi should be able to help, but if not, email me.

Mark.
