help needed please ...took my 95 sti ra out for a test run last night and it started to miss from about 5 upwards then it went down to about 4 then it started to rev on its own and cut out completely ...now it will start rev about 3 times on its own then cut and now and again when it cuts i get a miss fire

tryed another ecu on it
tryed 3 different maffs
fuel pressure 3.5 bar
and all the hoses etc

anyone got any ideas as im really stuck got a rally on friday night

does sound maf related but unusual for that year of car but you have changed them anyway.
. Could be a faulty temp sensor so maybe you could reduce the fuel pressure to see if that gets the car to idle. (don't know if that would work but could give you an idea)
Do you get any error codes on either of the ecu's?

 

no error codes at all ...light just flashes constant up to 100 then stops ...the mafs were off a 93 wrx and a 94 wrx the ecu was off a 94 wrx to ...but made difference at all same problems
