Default Engine Life

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right section or not but here goes

what's the general life of a classic Scooby engine?, say X Reg or R Reg 215bhp versions (which im sure are the same engines anyway), i know it depends on how well they been looked after, but just as a generalisation.

what do ya reckon?

about 130,000 miles?

My96 UK has 183,800miles on it.. and is running 1.3bar on a TD05..

I have owned it since 76k so it is possible it had been rebuilt but not seen any evidence..

Replacing the engine in the next couple of months as I would rather remove the engine in one piece.. lol

They seem to fail at low miles or just go and go.
