Default HELP PLEASE - Idling problem

The idle on my 94 WRX fluctuates between 1000 and 1600

Understand this is probably due to the Idle control valve needing cleaning

Can someone tell me where to find it and how to clean it

Thanks

Nick

its not always a matter of cleaning, i cleaned mine but no difference, sometimes they just malfunction and need replacing. However a dodgy idle can also be a sign for something else..... Its located to the right of the intercooler, cirular white thing, with a screw on each end.

try this. http://www.saxonfields.freeserve.co....e.htm#_Sensors

Could also be an air leak in the inlet tract somewhere (split hose etc, knackered DV), the fluctuation would be caused by the ISCV trying to regulate the idle speed (which obviously it could never do)..
