Heat proof/lagging DP and FMIC
I will shortly be upgrading to a FMIC and ninja DP with sport cat.
Is it worth while heat wrapping/lagging the pipework or DP, before they go on?
Are there any pro's/con's to doing this
Thanks

Will noticably reduce turbo lag, ie a few hudred rpms, by utilising more heat energy to spin the turbo. Also keeps underbonnet temps lower.
Only thing i have heard is that wrapping can cause turbos to reach their surge limit. But i have never seen or heard of any evidence to back this up.

Can also wrap the turbine housing with aluminumised wrap, also helps alongside doing the headers. This would probably give more gains than doing the downpipe.

Thanks for all the advice.
Off on a tangent, but, I had a turbo blanket thing, to obviously reduce under bonnet temps and was told it was a bad thing, as it would not allow any cool air to the turbo , is this correct?

The turbo blanket is a good thing. Hotter gasses flow faster which will reduce lag. The turbo is water and oil cooled so a small amount of airflow that it gets from the scoop isn't going to make a difference!
