Default Rich as a bitch

I've just whipped out the sparkies and slapped in a new set, first time I've done the plugs on a WRX and I must say it was a breeze, everyone keeps saying its a pain in the ****?? You think thats a pain in the **** you want to try doing the plugs on a Straight six with half a tonne of air hoses and charge cooler on top

I've inspected all of the old plugs, they are all equally dry and sooty as hell, we already had suspiscions it was running a bit rich (due to the dubious economy) so this proves it..

I'm going to fit a new ECU temp sensor as they tend to cause over fueling when they die, also there is a leak in the up pipe which will be sucking in air and not helping matters.

Now my question is is it possible to clean the MAF, the element looks a bit grimey, is it safe to spray it with carb cleaner?

And can anyone think of anything else that might be causing over fueling? Map sensor maybe?

Cheers

lambda sensor..

you can clean the early phase 1 mafs with no problems and I think the phase 1.5 are okay with that too but a phase 2 is a no no.

I believe the newage maf is similar to the phase 2 but I have little to do with the specifics on newage..

I wouldn't clean a newage maf either though..
