just wondering what a remap on a standard my98 uk turbo wagon would give? maybe a sti panel filter. how much does it cost at say powerstation? do they remove the old ecu and put in a new mappable one?

unfortunately you cant map an MY98 car as the ecu isnt mappable you would need an aftermarket ecu or piggy back unit and even then i think with no mods you would gain next to nothing

 

i heard that the my98 ecu was unmappable before, but wasnt sure, does the price of a remap include the cost of the new ecu or is that on top? cani plug in an ecu from a newer my. 99-00 etc?

 

no you cant use an MY99-00 ecu as they are 4 plug from memory and yours is a 3 plug.The price of a remap is normally included in the price of a new ecu (best to make sure first) so in reality to get your car remapped id be looking at about £700 minimum for a replacement ecu and remap
