Bit of a strange one this!!!
About 3 weeks ago i bought an ECU that had,had an ECUTEK 2 remap for a MY99 classic that had got a full decat and a STI panel filter. As this is the exact same as what ive got i thought that it was a wise purchase.
I fitted the ECU an went for a blast ,the difference was awsome!!!.After about 2 weeks the car seemed to feel more or less the same as it was before the ECU was fitted but i thought "maybe its just me getting used to it"
So today i warmed the car up the did the ECU reset thingy with the 2 sets of wires under the dash and waited to see if there was any fault codes thinking that if there was anything wrong then that might be the cause of "the slowdown"
Anyway i took the car for a drive and it was back to awsome!!!.I havent drove the car long enough yet to see what happends.Do you think it feels quicker untill the ECU sorts its self out? eg fueling and timming?

Ive been driving scoobs for about 6 years. Yet still im no expert. I run mine on standard unleaded most of the time since few petrol stations sell high RON petrol where i live. I notice a difference when i get to use it. I also notice a big difference when the air is cold and damp. Also like you said you get used to the power. When i first got a scoob it scared me somewhat and i nearly run into the back of several cars going to overtake. Then it all becomes normal till i drove my Ex GF's clio or my step fathers vectra. Rather than running in to the back of cars ive nearly run into a few comming the other way trying to over take and thinking im driving a scoob. You could have An ecu problem but ill be ****ed if i know what it is.

as every engine is different, the engine that it was previously connected to may have been able to run more ignition advance than your's. It could be that the ecu is detecting det on your engine with the ignition advance that it was mapped for on the previous engine so it is just retarding it on your engine. The reset will put it back to how is was mapped so will feel more sprightly for a while.

TEK2 is an 'off the shelf' map so it should be ok.
Are you using 98octane fuel?
It would be compensating for a worn lambda sensor or maf, possibly retarding due to detecting the onset on knock.

I thought the tek 2 and tek 3 were custom remaps. The tek 3 just being more advanced//newer than the tek 2? Is this not the case, is the tek 2 similar in effect then to a scoobyecu?

tek2 is an off the shelf map, I don't remember what if any mods it was based on. tek2.5 is another off the shelf but designed specifically with full de-cat and panel filter in mind and tek 3 is a custom remap of your own car, which should not be transfered to another car without being tweaked to suit.
