Question Why won't you bloody start!!!!

Just been outside.

Started car with keys, turned over first time, not running erratically all good.

Turned turbo timer on - took keys out, popped back indoors for something.

Came back, put keys in, let handbrake down - engine cut out as i forgot to turn to ignition on.

Tried starting again, car turned over, fired and then died straight away. Tried this a few more times with same result.

Tried pumping and holding accelerator down. Any ideas? Car has run spot on since i've owned and is standard bar panel filter and exhaust.

Anyone else experienced something similar

try this i found it in a forum search. Will high lite any probs.

Until i had my problem i never realised so many starting problems ive had 3 scoobs in 6 years and starting wasnt an issue till about 3 weeks ago. I usually go for the classics though. I dont have a huge amount of money. I just like scoobs!

If you dont get an error code straight away start the engine then stop it then turn the key back to the start position. Thats how i got my error code!

Could be cam or crank sensor. My crank sensor failed in a way that meant it would start and run fine when cold, but wouldn't restart when hot, until it cooled down again.

Not sure if it would be crank sensor as this has come completely out of the blue, tried startting with turbo timer on / off, handbrake up / down.

Going in garage tomorrow, praying not a big job as i'm supposed to be in body shop friday.

Bloody car

Mine got a problem with Warm starts. The Diagnostic showed the crank sensor. Gonna fit the new one tomorow or friday. Mine was fine then ine day i went to the shops about 10 mins away and it wouldnt start when i came out. After checking it in the dark and not finding anything it started (about 30 mins later). Was ok for a while after but the last week or so its every time i try a warm start. Mine was quite out of the blue too. Was and does run great just wont start hot!

If they find it is the crank sensor then its about half an hour (less) to change but its a dealer only part and can take between a day and a week to get one if they dont have one in stock!

If it's firing and dying, it's probably not flooded. My Astra flooded once and I felt like a right idiot when the AA man told me what it was....

1) Is the fuel pump priming when you turn the ignition on?
2) Check the wiring. Any corrosion on connectors etc. try to make and break connections.

Any news?
