Default Hks SQV Dump valve

Since having the car remapped it doesnt seem as loud as it was i notice it has a screw any idea what way does what ??

screwing the screw in will increase the pre-load on the bov, screwing it out/anti-clockwise will lessen the pre-load. The further in you screw it the higher boost it will take to allow it to blow off. I recommened screwing it in until roughly only 4-5 threads are visable after the lock nut. should be plenty loud!

mine doesnt have a screw?? must be a fake one then.doh!!

lol no mate its a real hks, they made some models of the ssqv without a screw aswell, supposedly self adjusting but my japanese isnt the greatest. I have seen many of both, with the screw and without.

oh i see,just i no there were some fake ones going on ebay?? mine wasnt sourced from there dont think? i no you can change the internals mines got a purple insert and i want the gold one as ive heard its louder but not sure where to get them from?

you can get the inserts on ebay aswell, alot of places stock them, not expensive at all. The silve/gold insert are the same. I would recommend them over the purple anyday!!!

Thanks for that, boost has gone from 1.2 to 1.5 guess it will need some fettling then.

is there a major drop in boost pressure during gear changes? if so then adjust the bov clockwise to tighten the spring more
