Default What is this bit of exhaust ?

Just go these off a fellow Snet member - trying to fit them to my MY06 (which the center decat doesnt BTW).

The longer section will fit - but can anyone tell me does it have a cat in it or is it simply a resonator ?

Comparing it to the standard MY06 STI long center, the box on the MY06 is certainly a lot bigger.

Any ideas ?

If I put it on will it get louder ??? (just looking for something to do today !)

cheers

james

The short piece is the centre cat pipe, the long piece is the resonator centre pipe.

Hopefully this will help:

So does smaller resonator == bigger noise ?

Taking out the resonator (and even more so the cats) will certainly produce more noise. I've already changed the centre section for one without a resonator and have decat down and up pipes to go on sometime soon - so then I'll know myself how much more noise there is with only the centre cat left in
