faster as in top end or faster as in acceleration?
What is cheap? different people different definitions.
Less than a £100 then a dawes type manual boost controller just to up your boost a little. Also if you have a td05 make sure that you have an ecu that came with the td05 as standard (so the ecu boost characteristics match the turbo's characteristics)

putting a jap ecu from 95-95 would make a difference. A Z4 ECU was standard on WRX's from this time period and has 260ps out of the box. Add it to your decat and its probably around 275PS. Have no experience of putting jap WRX ecu's into UK cars though.

You'll be running 11.47psi. The Z4 will run 12.7psi and the Prodrive 13.64psi (which is based on the Z4 map).
The Prodrive ECU is rated at 255BHP running with a standard exhaust (with Cat still in place).
A ScoobyECU can run upto around 16psi, depending who supplies the map.

Yes, but not the ScoobyECU adaptor board referenced in the above link anymore. But genuine 27C1028 chips.
The ScoobyECU is the name we came up with for the adaptor that seems to of been adopted 'in name' for any pre96 type remap.

Supply yes, fitting is easy and DIY.
Map supplied is dependant on make/model/spec.
Price.....whatever it goes for on Ebay. Starting price is always £60.

Hi scott i run the same model with a panel filter mid decat and back box what sort of increase would you expect and would it take a downpipe later on in my plans? sorry for hijacking the thread.

Running 14psi gave my old UK car 255bhp with just a panel filter, centre decat and rear box. A full decat would release a little more.
This was only running 14psi though, not the 16psi that is used now.

With decat and 16psi I would expect a UK car to run 270BHP+, with headers maybe nearer 285/290BHP.

Some of the early STi's running 16psi and even a few WRX have been 300BHP+ and 290lbft.
These are only rated at between 260ps (Post Sept 94 WRX) and 275ps (STi 2) as standard.

You do these for the a 1994 WRX? what sort of power would be achieved with a 3" de-cat downpipe, standard centre section and cat and an afterburner backbox along with your chip?

I'll probably bung one on in a couple of day's as there is a bit of competition on there at the moment from esl performance.

I'm not sure who they are or what their rep with Scoob's is like. They 1st appeared on Ebay around Christmas and have popped up again recently.
They seem to have jumped on the Pre96 Subaru mapping - Ebay band wagon.

Check if it really has got a TD05 for a start. Unless I'm mistaken that might be a TD04 as the classic WRX wagons always produced less power and certainly UK cars did. If it is an '04 then it'll be pushing it to even get 300bhp out of it from what I've heard.

Got me thinking too. I know i do far too much of it! Smell the brain fumes.
Ive spent a good deal of the last 2 years making my car faster. However in reality i cant go more than 80mph without dragging a copper. And on the roads in yorshire there is speed cam hell. Im starting to figure that unless i do drag races or track days i need a car that will do 100mph max but 0-60 in about 2.5 seconds. Is this possible in a scoob? Gearing etc?
Dont really wanna go for the NOS i have 80k km on the clock.

UK Wagons TD05 and same ECU as a Saloon, run upto 16-16.5psi.
WRX Wagons TD04 and require a different map running around 14.5psi.

P.S The chip linked to above could be one of my old ones or could be someone elses. It will not be suitable for all models as stated. Some models can share a generic chip but some can't.

P.P.S I only sell through ebay as it fits in better with me i.e I can sell as and when I like and as and when I have stock (as these genuine chips are rare and hard to come by). I used to sell direct and through the Scoobynet shop but I got so many enquiries it was taking up too much of my time and stock was not readily available. I keep thinking of knocking this on the head, but as long as I can get a dribble of blank devices, I will keep dribbling them onto Ebay. Oh ! and I havn't had a Pre96 Impreza for 3 years now.
