Question help needed please !!!!!!!!!

hi everone i have had the engine replaced in my wrx import V2 and every time it gets warm and you hit 5 thousand revs it seems like it hits a limiter and chokes but when it is cold it will go fine please could some one give me a bit of advice as the garage who fitted it will not and they are 300 miles away , many thanks

It maybe coil packs giving up under heat and load? Is the MIL light illuminated on the dash (ECU check light)? Or it maybe a feuling issue, buts its hard to say. When you say warm do you mean up to running temperature. Does it do it when the engine is partially heated up over the 5000 rpm mark? What boost are you running?

Could be ECU temp sensor, ECU may think the engine is colder than it is so the timing will be way out.

Try the ECU coolant temp. sensor.. they are only a few quid and easy to change. Wont show up as a fault if its still working but just not creating the correct resistance at opperating temp.

You running that boost due to running the new engine, as it seems lower than standard? Did you get any other work done like a new alarm fitted or anything? And when they did the work did they use a second hand engine or source a new short block? Theres so many factors to consider due to the engine being changed for another one as it sounds like its something the garage has caused either by fitting faulty parts or not fitting the engine correctly.
