Own parts & remap vs Package

Own parts & remap vs Package
I've not been able to find a definitive answer to this on other threads, so here goes.
I already have the Ninja BB and a high flow panel filter.
If i was to buy the:
Ninja downpipe (£225), Ninja centre (£100) plus a new marlboro fuel pump (£100), then a remap (somewhere...possibly Powerstation GB) - £600,
would that give the same power/torque and driveability as one of the "packages" (tsl/wrc/powerstation circa £2000) ??
The parts are almost the same, just don't want to sell everything i've got already, plus i thought it would save a few squids.

I'd say you would be better to buy the bits yourself and get it re-mapped. Save youself a few quid for some handling or braking mods! I can't quote figures, but if the parts are basically the same and you get a good mapper then what's the point in paying more for a package???

Packages are great for people that want to turn up, hand over the car and get it back with a nice power increase. There is the added benefit that if all the work is carried out by the company, you will have some comeback if the car doesn't make the power that the package suggests.
On the other hand if you like getting your hands dirty then there are savings to be made but then the onus is on you to find out what parts work well together. Either way its all good fun!

I see the PS miltek is 3" and presume the TSL exhaust is 3", isn't the ninja only 2.5", would that matter, for these mild-ish gains?
Anyone have the full Ninja exhaust, pump, filter and remap?
Not too keen on getting my hands dirty, but i thought the odd £20-30 here and there for fitting the parts at local garages and doing it all myself would save me over a package.

Having said that if you plan on future power increases, then it'd probably be best to go 3" as you haven't bought anything yet.

Well i've got the Backbox, which cost a few hundred quid. If it's best to go with the 3" one and sell my existing panel filter/backbox, then i guess i'm just as well taking the package.
I was kinda hoping to utilise what i had, buy the remainder of the parts and save money, but that's not the case?!?

If you're not planning to go beyond 350bhp, you're 2.5" system will be fine. I'm running over 300bhp on a 2.5" system with a sports cat downpipe.
Why not get the best of both worlds with your mods. Buy the extra parts you need and take them to a specialist garage for fitting then mapping. I used AWD Motorsport in Perth to carry out a similar project to yourself and they also get Andy Forrest's mappining services a couple of days a month.
So you can take your car and your parts to them and drive it away with them fitted and the car re-mapped.
