Depends on mileage, service history (though personally if it didnt have any i would walk away) has the car been modified, this can decrease the value rather than increase if the previous owner didnt know what they were doing.
The cars value will be between 9-11k depending on if its a dealer or not, anything over 11k is a rip off and 11k is top end, top grade car.
These cars come with quick rack steering (notice the badge on the rear windscreen that says something like "quicksteering by STi", they have NO ABS, instead they have a DCCD (Drivers controlled center differential, i will add a link to a thread on this), the car "may" have electric windows, but on the other hand if its just a normal STi type RA then it probably wont, nor will it have central locking as standard, though there is a possiblity of air con if it was fitted at the factory.
Things to look for when buying, have a look here under FAQ's for the chassis numbers.....www.sidc.co.uk and also look on the drivers side, front of the car, below the headlights and in the gap by the numberplate, there should be an engine oil cooler, its about 6 inches long, if it doesnt have one then its not a type RA.

Version 5 wrc limited sti type ra.....

There where a thousand made, sonic blue in colour.
Sti carbon strut brace up front
Sti intercooler with i/c spray
Roof vent
No fog lights
very little sound proofing
Alloy bonnet
no rear wiper
no boot light
no rear speakers
elec windows and air con as standard
Sti quick rack
Dccd
no abs
Helical front diff.

And theres probably more.

I have no 639/1000.

Mine will do 80mph at 4000rpm so at 8000rpm should do 160mph......not that i would go that far in 5th gear.
Wouldn,t recommend as a daily driver, and tiresome on long journeys.

If intended as a toy/weekend use....one of the best classics you can own.
