i know alot this question has prob been asked alot,

atm i have about 4000 quid to spend on my subaru, and im wondering how far it would go in making a fairly fast 1/4 mile subaru.

at the mo i have a my00, i already have

hybrid FMIC
Apexi power fc
300zx MAF
full decat

so my question is what could i expect power wise and 1/4 mile wise with 4 - 5k of engine devolpment?

Doubt you will make a 10 sec car.
High 11's but certainly a 12 sec car.

Assuming £4K on parts not labour.

Other popinions will be interesting.

4-5k will probably build you an engine, it wont be an 11 sec 1/4 miler though, prob more like mid 12's, your gearbox will probably break along with the clutch, so a couple of k there straight away, FMIC, bigger brakes, bigger turbo etc etc etc, realistically, 4-5k doesnt get you much, 10-20k on the other hand.....

I bought a standard wrx type R. Changed the air filter and de catted it, changed the fuel pump and got it mapped by Andy Forrest and ran a 12.5 at elvington. To me thats a pretty much a standard car. I recon if i stripped my cars interior, learnt to drive properly seeing as it was my first time, uprated the crap tyres, got a bigger turbo, intercooler and injectors i recon i could of acheved low 12's poss very high 11's. That would be about 4000 quid. I spent a grand to achieve my 12.5 so another 3 grand on top of that should knock a good few tenths off
