check with your insurer but I have replaced my screen every January for the last two years (just before MOT) on the insurance. Different insurers £50 and £60 excees.. doesn't effect NCB unless you do more than 2screens I believe.. They usually use AutoGlass as they do it cheap to Insurers..

Mine's peppered with tiny 'pin-hole' stone chips all over and got a couple of more serious ones on the passenger side. It's not an MOT failure but difficult to see well through in direct sunlight - do the insurance actually check the condition of the screen previously or would they only replace it if say, a stone came flying up and gave the screen a proper big crack or hole?
