Default rear wiper

my rear screen wiper does not seem to work at all. the wiper jet works fine but the arm does not respond at all.

1. Does anyone know which fuse in the fusebox corresponds to the wiper (though i've checked the fusebox and they all seem to be o.k.)?

2. Does anyone know what could be causing this and more importantly exactly how I can check for the fault?

Any help is appreciated.

Try the bundle of cables that feed power through to the tailgate (assuming it's a wagon as you've got a rear wiper?) they often fail from repeated bending as the tailgate is opened and closed. They are on the top right hand side on classics (left hand side carries washer water pipe). Getting access is a pain, you have to remove the rubber seal that the wires go through and have a good poke and prod about to find the broken one!

Only that it's worth checking all the other wires in the bundle, in addition to wiper my rear screen heater and high level brake light also packed up due to 3 failed wires in the bundle. Very awkward bit of soldering and lots of insulation tape fixed it. I used some WD40 to slide the rubber thing out of the way, since I couldn't get access to the broken wires any other way. Can't guarantee it won't do any harm, but seemed OK...

could be the relay that sits in the boot beside the wiper motor or dodgy switch
