Default Roller Bearing Turbo question/advice

I've been offered a brand new VF35 for an excellent price.

Would it be possible to run this on an MY06 STI (UK) and would the car benefit from it??

I'm not really all that clued up yet on the difference between the the different turbo's available as I've not been on here long.

I'm basically looking for a roller bearing turbo that has the ability to provide enough boost for around the 380-400BHP (should I ever feel the need to go that high!!) that has very fast spool up properties.

If the VF35 is a no-no, then what other roller bearing units are out there that would fit my car and match the spec I require??

Thanks in advance.

VF35 isn't a Roller Bearing Turbo, it's a vf30 with a smaller exhaust housing for better response. 350 Bhp is about the upper limit of this turbo. It is the standard turbo on an STI 8. VF34 is the roller bearing version but this still has about the same power limits.

Ah right. Cheers mate. Just shows how much I know then

Still gotta a lot to learn!!

What turbo would you suggest then??

Again, a roller bearing unit that would direct fitment to an MY06 STI and have the capacity to provide enough boost for around 380-400BHP.

Don't think any of the IHI turbo's will give you that sort of power, although i don't know a lot about the 06 2.5's.

Most people with that sort of power goals go for a TD05 20G but this isn't a roller bearing turbo, you might make the 380 with an 18G.

Personally if i had a 2.5 (which i am considering in my classic) i'd fit a TD06 20G Garret Hybrid from Andy Forrest which would give betwen 400-450 bhp, but you may need strenghten internals for this.
