Default Low boost SOMETIMES?!

Hi all, randomly after a bit of driving and only about 1/10 times, my car will only boost to 0.5bar, and not go above it (Normally 1.0-1.2).
If i switch the ignition off and re-start her, it's instantly "cured"?!
Engine check light doesn't come on and everything else seems fine.
Any ideas?! Much appreciated.

Isn't this heatsoak - or at least higher temps in the engine bay as this will always restricted / lower the level of boost won't it? Not sure why turning the ignition off and back on again would cure this though?

It does it in all gears.

I don't think it as, as you said the ignition wouldn't cure that, and i know when it's suffering from heat soak it runs slower but this is bang on 0.5bar.
It's the switching the ignition off then on curing it that's baffling me!!

I'll have a butchers at this, but again don't think the ignition would cure that.

Thanks for your help!

I've only just realised my ecu has a switch to switch it between standard and SCOOBYECU settings, so I've taken all the cover etc off and will try flicking the wsitch to normal next time it happens and see if that works.

UPDATE...
When the ECU is switched to normal...the car runs fine, no probs at all.
When the ECU is switched to SCOOBYECU the car will run fine until you floor it, then as soon as it hits max boost it drops to 0.5bar and won't go above it.
I'm guessing this is "Safe mode" although no check light is on???
Gonna have a play with it this morning and see if i can find anything. I'm guessing it's something to do with it overboosting?!
