Got a strange problem with my sidelights
Sometimes they work, sometimes they dont
One side wasnt working, thought it was the bulb, but when I touched the sidelight casing it came on !!, so I thought perhaps a dodgy bulb, or loose wiring
then last night I checked the other sidelight, and that does the same thing now !!
any ideas on why they wont come on unless tapped lightly, I can understand one side doing that but not both
Ill try changing the bulbs tonight, as I have a few spare
Steve

Well I got a multimeter, but to me hitting the side lamps to come on does sound more like faulty wiring somewhere, but my guess is that it wont be that easy to resolve
if the lights are off, then there cant be any voltage (or not enough) but hitting them wouldnt produce more voltage
If there is a break in the wire (cant really see it being that otherwise it would only be one side and not both) then again not that easy to rectify

Hi Steve, probably a crappy socket inside the lamp, doesn't take much for a bit of corrosion to foul them up, and every time you whack them it scratches through the sh!te and makes contact for a bit.
How's tricks??

Yeah, im just not sure if the fault is in the socket or the wiring itself
may try a bit of sandpaper on the contacts and some new bulbs
Things arent too bad, sold my turbo in the end, it was just sitting in the garage gathering dust, waiting for money for a remap
Im leaving the car as it is for the time being, im quite happy with it still, hows things with yours now
