What's The Best Engine ?
#1

I'm strongly leaning towards buying a 2nd hand impreza engine . I really haven't time to rebuild my old engine & I wouldn't be confident it would run for too long once rebuilt . I would also get rid of the intermittent tappet rattle in the legacy heads .
Anybody any experience of Eddie Torrens Car Breakers ?
He has a selection of 30 imported Impreza turbo engines from various models , all come complete with turbo , manifolds & clutch plus a 3 month warranty .
I'll probably go to see what he has next week . Which would be the best engine to go for as regards suitability for the legacy ? I'd be worried about it not running properly with my VOS chipped ECU . I've the VF12 vos chip , though if I buy an engine with a TD05 I'll get the chip changed to suit .
Are there many changes involved when fitting an impreza engine to the legacy ? Any rewiring involved as vehicle electrics are not my strong point ?
Cheers ,
Derek
