Default crazy clutch

when i went shopping for my first scoob last year i read up on buying tips, i had always been told that the bite point should be quite low on a standard car as this one is, and to test it by accelerating hard in 4th at 30mph and if the revs shoot up its on its way out.. i did this and all seemed good, but the bite point was none the less very high. I bought the car anyway and have now had it for 9 months and have done about 8k and have never been easy on it, yet the clutch refuses to give up, slip or anything. Is this normal?

I think it is difficult to use such rules of thumb on any car or indeed machine.

It works, no slip and I presume is nice to drive in traffic etc.

If it isn't broke, don't fix it comes to mind.

My Sti v3 stock clutch suddenly went while racing the car on track, bite was at the bottom. New AP organic clutch went in and it too bites at the bottom and has survived 3 racing years at 407 x 380 spec engine and is 'perfect' as far as I know.

Be happy, don't worry.
