cheers for the quick response mate just another question am i right in thinking that the pfc has its own knock detection so would i still need to buy a knock link or could this money be saved to go toward a pfc?

This ECU has no ability to retard timing in the event of a high knock count - You'll need to use your right foot to do that
I have a PFC and a KL installed, as i find it easier to see the LED's on the KL illuminating, but also refer to the commander to see the max. knock value reached.
