I have been to the mot station with my 380 x 370 Sti v3 with Fc etc but an old knackered 3'' dp.''sport cat', open 3'' all the way back.
The only issue was getting the cat hot. The 3'' lets so much flow by - the cat keeps cool despite it being wrapped etc.
The MoT man worked hard to get it hot before the test and it passed 'ok' (ie it was an honest pass, but not as good as the wife's Yaris).
Get that cat hot and you will be 'ok'.
Mine was mapped by AndyF so is a brilliant map.
Good luck.

Assuming the lambda sensor is switched on like it should be you shouldn't have a problem. The Apexi uses the lambda sensor to control the emissions on idle and cruise in the same way the original ecu does.
