Default MY06 Best Mods Advice ?

Hi

I have a Euro Import WRX MY06. Had it since March and am loving every minute. Currently thinking about starting some mods for a bit more power what would people suggest for best value for money.
Also I had heard you can get the scooby burble more pronounced how would you do this also.

Thanks in advance.

Restoring the burble is easy, just get a Prodrive or other aftermarket backbox. Prodrive/magnex are regarded as quite quiet, H&S Original design/ Ninja/Afterburner Vortex are intermediate to quite loud and Blitz Nur spec/Firestorm are generally regarded as V loud. Best bet is to go to a meet and see what you prefer.

Regarding power: If you want to keep your warrranty, you have to stick with the PPP package.

new back box and de3-resonated centre section will give burble and some power but not a vast amount - change the air filter too and should be good for another 20bhp ish

Has anyone tried fitting just the centre on the MY06 (Sti) with standardbackbox? Does the burble return?

Best vfm or bang for buck has got to be a remap although if you were planning on a change of exhaust/filter etc you should try to get these done prior to mapping.

I just put a Prodrive BB on my STI and the burble's great

And yes, your car will be under warranty...so the only option avaliable is the PPP conversion....which is a complete package costing near £1500 - £2000 Depending on which dealer fits it...

Would the dealer know it's been remapped?

if it goes bang - the engine is sent back to subaru - they would know if the ecu has been reflashed -> no warranty

thing is though, would it go bang cos most good mappers will not map to within an inch of its life.

with the PPP you are paying the extra £600 ish for the warranty and potentially enhanced resale... you pays ya money...
