Question Wont start when hot...Crankshaft Sensor

Help please Guys/Girls

I have a 95 WRX Import.

Starts 1st time every morning but wont start when hot and has been left for about one hour. I have read loads of threads that have pointed to the Crankshaft or Camshaft sensor.

Just tried to start her ..shes hot and been stood for an hour...turns over as normal but wont attempt to start. I can hear the fuel pump when I turn on the ignition.

Disconnect and reconnect the Cam sensor...still the same.

Disconnect and reconnect the Crank sensor...started 1st time. The sensor is Brown.

Is this conclusive and a new Crank sensor will solve it?

Where can I get one and how much? I live in Chesterfield.

I took the sensor out the other day and wiped it clean, it was slightly dusty, but it hasn't resolved the issue.

Thanks in advance

Mick

that is classic sign of crank sensor failing yes.

Main delaer if you can find one that will serve you, or www.hdcsubaru.com for a secondhand one.. I expect GGR or AS Performance or Scoobyclinic may have or be able to get a new one.

Well I thinks so. I went to Scoobyclinic and got one out of an engine they had laying about on the floor (red top ). Kev did a test with his plug in 'thingy' and the only fault showing was crank, I fitted it there and then and I am hoping it is sorted. I have tested it after an hour a couple of times and its started straight away but will know better after a few more tries this week.

Thanks for your help.
