Hi all

Got a my99.

Its standard apart from an afterburner vortex exhaust back box.

If i took the middle cat out would i need a remap as i heard if you dont it makes the car run lean?

Also would the exhaust be much louder???

won't need a map with just centre cat removed

people on here don't map 1 even with a full de-cat
i would,and did. to be on the safe side

it will be a bit louder depending on which 1 you go for, ie, resonated or non- resonated

Hmm thinking that the afterburner decat is looking good then.


Just hope it not to loud as car is loud as hell when backing into my garage, neighbours have not complained as of yet

You'd be better decatting it but keeping the stock backbox then it will be quiet and should make reasonable power.

An idea what gaines im looking at with the decat and afterburner back box. Love the flat four rumble.

Full decat about 20 BHP gain, maybe about 10 BHP for just backbox and centre section.
