Strange clicking noise after Power FC Install
I have a MY98 Impreza and i use a Power FC for about 2 weeks.
I am using the base map for this days and the car is making a clicking noise (like the turbo solenoid noise) when idle.
Any suggestions?

it is mostlikely the purge solenoid under the inlet manifold..
you can unplug it electrically as PFC doesn't use it.
If however the clicking is from the drivers side inner wing then it will be the boost solenoid but my money is on the purge solenoid.
The base map is not safe on uk fuel by the way.

NOoooooooooooooooooooooooo
do not run your car on a base map
a base map is put there for the mapper not for u
simple as
phone any tuner that uses tthe powerFC they will tell you not to use the base map
anyway even if it is the same map as the one on the standard ecu than what is the point in taking the risk of using it ????
TAKE IT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! untill yopu get it mapped.
I CANT STRESS THAT ENOUGH

Craig, maybe a mapper has already posted on this thread! The base map is to0o much for uk fuel, however skydiver is in greece and is using 100ron fuel which is what is available in japan

All sounds good..
What did the knock link show on standard ecu?
the only issue would be what AFR it is running which you cannot check with out a wideband but I would expect it to be slightly rich.

Before the PFC i have used a GGR ECU with the same knocklick readings, i am waiting a new sensor for my AEM wideband Gauge.
I am sure that the car is working to the rich side because i have seen some black smoke from the exchaust, i will try to lower the inj duty.

You can stop the clicking by turning the 02 feedback control off. This will then run open-loop all the time.
Or set the idle fuel cell(s) to be greater then 1.047 IIRC. This will still run closed loop for cruise, but will switch to open loop at idle and in turn switch the purge solenoid off. It may run a little rich at idle though.
