Default ECU error codes and strange results ???

My 94 WRX was showing error codes tonight when I checked of 45, 23 & 11 (boost solenoid, MAF & crank sensor) I know the issue with boost solenoid as I run a Blitz boost controller but the other two ? I do have a starting issue in the fact it takes a good few seconds to start but I have changed crank sensor recently along with coolant sensor. Still have not got to the bottom of stating issue.

However I reset ECU and it flashed 43 at me after a mile or so. (no idea what error 43 is ?). Then I disconnected plugs done a few more miles and re-connected black plugs. This time I got my 45, 23 & 11 back, so what occuring here ?

Thing is car runs fine with not det etc etc, so not sure there is an issue with the MAF.

Any advise would be appreciated

Clive

I've had similar problems, error 43 is for a throttle pedal switch, i get this all the time as the UK models dont have the switch and i was running a Jap ecu. Is your ECU chipped? i ask because i now have a chip in my UK ecu and get the same code 43.

If your's does have the pedal switch then it could need adjusting if not then it could be down to the chip/ecu. Mine wouldn't clear stored codes because the error 43 comes up, think it needs to complete diagnostics with no codes to clear the memory, i disconnected the battery for 1hr and all codes were gone.

That explains it I think, I have a UK ECU running a scooby 'type' ECU at present. Will try the battery off trick

Okay, last night I disconnected battery for an hour or so and fitted an earthing lead direct to ECU from the battery. Have run car today and I have no ECU errors at all

However starting issue still remains, good 3-4 seconds turning over before it fires.

Does it sound slow on turnover ? like its low on battery or the starters lazy ?
