Question Smoke from exhaust on startup

Hi All

When the car has been left for several hours some smoke comes out the exhaust on startup(which does not normally happen). Does anyone know what might cause this ? After it happens it does not happen again until leaving the car for quite some time.

Cheers.
Andy.

did you ever get an answer to this, mine seems to do it too, much worse if the oil level is near full, but scared to run it near the low mark. 20k miles 06 sti. seems to use a fair amount of oil

My 03STI did this.
Afaik it is worn valve stem oil seals. Nothing to worry about imo.
