sorry if this seems a daft question I am not very techical I have just purchased a wrx 1993 and it drives fine and goes well but there seems to be a wine noise from the top of the engine ?? I can not pin point exactly where it is coming from any ideas ??? - sounds like a budgie stuck under the bonnet

 

Mine does it as do my mates. Could be AC pump or alternator. Try removing each belt till it stops then you will know what it is.

I just ignore it.
