Default AFR fitting questions/help?

I'm trying to fit an AFR gauge (autometer phantom) to my MY93 WRX and want to confirm a few things at the moment wanting to keep the connections in car i have wired the signal wire using a scotchlok to PIN 6 which i believe is the oxygen sensor on B43(the right hand block) is this correct?

Secondly where is the best place to connect the live and earth? at the moment these are connected to the wiring from the gauges which were already fitted to the car (oil preass+oil temp) just to see if all is working, the wiring as yet has not been soldered into place but just wound onto the existing gauges wires.
The problem im having is that on initial turn of the key when the fuel pump engages the gauge moves up into the stoich reading, when turning the key fully to start the car as the ignition begins the AFR will read through stioch just into rich, indicating to me that it is possibly working correctly?. However once the car is idling the gauge drops into lean an remains there even on driving and hard accelaration it doesnt really move up. when operating other electrical components on the car the gauge will drop an LED light down.

Heres a wee video on startup:

So what am i doing/have done wrong? I had a couple of thoughts.
a) There is not enough power/not earthed correctly (if so wheres the best place to connect?) connections need to be soldered (which i dont want to do until i know theyre in the best place)
b)The car is running seriously lean?
c)The oxygen sensor is faulty?

Can anybody help me out here or perhaps give me a guide on how they fitted one of these?

just to test, try running the earth and live from the battery direct. see what happens then. you have the correct pinout though. also you can put a multimeter on the pinout wire from the ecu and see what readings you get. you should see 0.7-1v is rich and below that lean but it will constantly switch between these readings unless on full boost where it should be well into 0.9-1
