Hi all,
Just a couple of quick questions
I currently have 00 uk turbo, full decat (by prev owner). CEL light does not come on, so does this indicate a re-map? If so can this be done on std ecu or is it upgraded? Also turbo heat shield was removed but saw a couple of posts where it might be better to replace it - have had it modified to fit, is it best to re-fit it?
Am maybe looking at changing car soon, really fancy a p1. Any experience/alternatives? Not really bothered about top end but just love that shove in the back
, however not sure about type r for cruising at high revs.
Any comments/experience appreciated
cheers

The decat makes no difference to the ECU. There is a lambda sensor just before it, which still works regardless of whether the cat is there or not. Just after the cat (or decat as you have it) is an exhaust temperature sensor. It basically tells the ECU if the cat's on fire and doesn't affect normal running in any other way.
If you've still got the heatshield and can mod it to go back on then do it. I wouldn't mind having mine back on again if I still had it.
