Default auto water mist not working

hi there looking for some help i have a my99 type r, and the auto
water mist for the intercooler is not working ,the manual one is it.
anyone ever had the same prob if so how did you fix it cheers.

it has got to be a temp sensor somewhere around the intercooler i would have thought

I don't think the std water spray is temp triggered...

Same thing happened to mine (V6 typeR), and it was just the little hose feeding the boost sensor. It had developed a leak, hence reading lower pressure and not switching on.

On my STi5, I had exactly the same issue, and pulled the switches out. All were plugged in, (Auto/Manual and Fog light) but the auto mister just wouldnt work (didnt even light up the button when turned on), after a bit of routing behind the switches there was a plug with the same fitment as the switch, so I took out whatever was plugged into the Auto switch (no idea what it was, should check it really), and plugged in the newly found switch, and voila, Auto switch light now illuminated when pressed, and IC spray bottle empties within about 15 miles of "spirited" driving
