Default Air Conditioning

Ive got a '95 WRX and was just wondering if when the air conditioning gas is empty, would this stop the pump from spinning. Im pretty sure its out of gas, but when i turn on the A/c (with the engine running lol) the pump isnt spinning ...i wanted to know so i can start looking for a new pump if its kippered!!

Ive seen this happen on a new age, we thought it was an electrical fault, but it turned out it was empty of gas

Thanx....Hopefully its out of gas then ...I dont mind paying out just one arm to get the gas done rather than and arm n a couple of legs for a new pump

yes defo, if the pressure switch senses low/no pressure (lack of gas) it will shut the syestem down to prevent damage to the pump and accumealator, also when you get the system serviced have it checked for leaks, maybe small hole hole in the radiator (aircon)
